Bedford Big Band, under the direction of Karen Sayward, is a New Hampshire favorite with over a decade of performances across New England to its credit. The band’s repertoire favors iconic Swing Era tunes, well-known jazz standards, and more modern pop, funk, and Latin selections.

Under the direction of Karen Sayward, Bedford Big Band (a 501(c)(3), not-for-profit, incorporated corporation) is a 19-piece classic swing big band that hails from Bedford, NH. The band was incorporated in May 1998 and has played in venues and events all over New England, including the Mt. Washington Hotel, Short Sands Beach in York, ME, the Derry Opera House, and many, many summer town concert bandstands, from Bedford, NH, to Bedford, MA and all points in-between! The band features talented soloists and great vocalists, and has performed with professionals such as Jay Daly, Greg Abate, and Delfeayo Marsalis. The mission of the band is to provide talented musicians an opportunity to join together, play music, provide inexpensive entertainment for audiences in the style of big band era music from Count Basie to Duke Ellington, plus more modern pop, funk, and Latin selections.
